Obituary of Mike Skinner

Mike Skinner of Grant-Valkaria Florida sadly passed away  on 2nd April 2020, at age 75, after a long and gallant battle with cancer during which he appreciated each day he survived was a gift from God . Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Mike was the son of the late Samuel C. and Marie M. Federici-Skinner. He was the brother of the late Stephen E. Skinner of Mount Airey, Maryland. Mike is survived by his loving fiancee, Robin Brown , his life long friends as well as numerous pet companions. Mike had many passions in his life from volunteering and donating to animal rescue farms and shelters , to following his mother’s love of breeding and showing their AKC West Highland Terrier; champions in the 1970’s. During the early 1960’s Mike started boxing and became North Carolina Golden Glove Champion. In 1975 he was entered into the Boxing Hall of Fame. Later, in the 1990’s Mike began competing in many kickboxing and karate contests and earned a 2nd degree black belt in 1995. After graduating with a master’s degree,Mike began a  career in tax accounting for several large corporations in the D.C. area. Then in the mid 90’s ,he decided to set up his own tax accounting service called L.W.A.S.. In the late 90’s Mike moved to Florida ,with his fiancee Robin, and continued with his tax accounting work. A future life celebration service will be held in Florida And Maryland once the coronavirus pandemic is over.
