Obituary of Mildred Josephine (Gladyszewski) Lucas


Mildred Josephine (Gladyszewski) Lucas, 96, passed away Tuesday, August 25, at Florida Shores of Melbourne Assisted Living, West Melbourne, Florida.
 

Millie was born December 13, 1923, to Edmund and Laura (Przybiszewski) Gladyszewski in south Cleveland, Ohio.
 

She was married in 1945, loving wife to Ancil Lucas, who preceded her in death in 1992. Besides Cleveland, she and Ancil lived in Streetsboro, Kent, and Stow, Ohio. She moved to Melbourne, Florida in 2004.
 

Millie was a very talented musician, self-taught to play music by ear in spite of losing most of her hearing as a child. She played the accordion, piano and organ. She entertained many, in residential communities of Masion Aine in Ohio, Crane Creek, Trinity Towers, Brookdale, Grand Villa, and Florida Shores in the Melbourne area.
 

She is survived by her devoted daughter and caregiver Lori Lucas, Melbourne Florida. Sons, Terry (Pam) Lucas, Charlotte, NC and Barry (Annmarie) Lucas, Palm Bay, FL. Grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Seaman, Waxhaw, NC, Garrett (Stephanie) Lucas, Charlotte, NC, Shawn Lucas, Satellite Beach, FL, Carrie Lucas, Melbourne, FL, and Brian (Bri) Lucas, Orlando, FL. Great grandchildren, Mikayla Seaman, Tyler Seaman, Claire Wright Lucas and Holden Lucas.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings Casimer Gladyszewski, Clarence Gladyszewski, Edward Gladyszewski, Lucy Ann Coons, and infant John Gladyszewski.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
